This Parmesan and Garlic Shake n Bake is NOT your usual shake n Bake! With parmesan and garlic you’ll get an amazing flavor boost.

I’m not sure why I came up with this version of crunchy crumb coating on baked chicken. Maybe I just got bored of regular shake n bake or didn’t have it in my pantry when a craving hit. Whatever the reason, it really doesn’t matter. This Parmesan Garlic Shake n Bake is a scrumptious sensation!

Method

Homemade shake n bake is so easy to make, taking only 10 minutes to make. Make the crumb mixture, then toss the chicken pieces in one at a time. Then bake for 45-50 minutes at 350°F. This recipe is great, as once you get the chicken in the oven you have almost an hour to prepare your broccoli with Easy Cheesy Sauce for Broccoli.

History of Shake n Bake

Shake n Bake was invented in 1965. Shake N Bake was promoted as a healthy alternative to fried chicken. Because of being baked, it definitely is a healthier version of crispy coated chicken. The name Shake n Bake comes from putting the crumbs and chicken pieces in a bag and shaking it.

Tips

  • -line cookie sheet with aluminum foil for easier clean up.
  • -cook the chicken until the meat thermometer reads 175°. Always go by the temperature as different ovens cook faster or slower.

The parmesan in this version of homemade shake n bake adds extra crunchines. With a touch of garlic and a hint of thyme, you get a tasty pairing of flavors! You can also use drumsticks for this recipe, they are just as delicious as thighs and have less fat content.
