Broccoli Quiche recipe is a favorite of young and old alike. If you have some people in your household who don't like mushrooms, you can chop them very tiny, or just leave them out. Same goes for the onions. But, I really do recommend leaving the mushrooms and onions because they are what takes this broccoli cheddar quiche over the top flavor-wise!!

History of Quiche
Quiche, although it is considered a French food, actually originated in Germany. The word quiche is from the German word Kuchen, which means cake. It wasn't until the mid 1950s that quiche gained popularity in the U.S. There are so many versions of quiche today, especially throughout Europe and North America. Ingredients in Broccoli Quiche Recipe
- Butter, just for sauteeing the onion and mushrooms.
- Onion, chopped pretty small.
- Mushrooms, I slice them now that my children will eat them, but when they were younger I would chop them very tiny so they were just brown specks in the quiche and my lovely non-mushroom eating children would be none the wiser;-0
- Flour, this will thicken the quiche.
- Salt and pepper, just to taste.
- Milk, I use whole milk but if you want it creamier, choose the fat level in your milk/cream you prefer.
- Eggs, like I said before, this recipe only needs 3.
- Broccoli, chopped and cooked. To cook just toss into boiling water and stir for 2 minutes maximum, then drain.
- Cheddar cheese, grated, you can use either medium or sharp cheddar. I prefer the old/sharp cheddar for the abundance of flavor.
- Pie crust, enough to line one 9 inch pie plate.
