Spinach Dip AKA Knorr Spinach Dip
Spinach dip is also known as Knorr spinach dip recipe. It was originally on the Knorr vegetable soup packet. You can use any kind of dried vegetable soup mix. I like to use the creamy vegetable soup mix. For a variation, you can use a packet of ranch, or italian dressing mix, or onion soup mix. Add water chestnuts for some extra crunch. Or, add a tin of drained crab meat to make this dip extra fancy!
The star of the show is undeniably spinach in this recipe. Using frozen spinach is definitely the easiest option. Just be sure to drain all of the water out! My daughter has made this spinach dip recipe using fresh raw spinach and that was truly awesome.
Baked spinach dip is really yummy as well. Although, this spinach dip recipe is so super easy that it is my go-to spinach dip recipe! I love a dip that can just be mixed up in one big bowl. Then, just set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving!

History
The Knorr spinach dip was extremely popular in the 80s. The Knorr food company began in Germany in 1838, when Carl Heinrich Knorrsupplied chicory to the coffee industry. He then began experimenting with dried vegetables and seasonings and thus began the foray into dried soups. In 1873, he began shipping dried soups across Europe. Knorr developed the first bouillon cube in 1912. This development made cooking tasty soups that much easier. A chef by the name of Michael Piganelli is said to have developed spinach dip in 1933, and variations have passed down through generations since then.
