Slow Cooker Stuffing is really and truly one of my favorite side dishes for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner! The aroma all morning as the stuffing is slowly cooking in the crockpot is amazing! Using a slow cooker is my all-time number one way to make homemade stuffing. The slow cooking process retains all of the moisture while thoroughly cooking the veggies!
This stuffing recipe NEVER turns out too soggy, and even has lots of crunchy pieces on the edges! There is no need to pre-cook the onions and celery, which just wastes all the yummy veggie juices. Slow cooker stuffing is the easiest ever! Basically, just chop your vegetables and mix everything together.

You can make Slow Cooker Stuffing in advance. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, I often start preparing my side dishes and desserts weeks in advance. This homemade stuffing recipe can be made up and frozen in ziploc bags. Then, just place in the refrigerator the night before. The morning of your big feast, place the turkey stuffing in the slow cooker and heat on low until the rest of your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner is ready.
The flavors of celery, onions, and mushrooms enhance this homemade stuffing recipe and add moisture to the dry bread cubes. You can customize the vegetables added to Slow Cooker Stuffing. Some people like to add water chestnuts, carrots, garlic, or zuchinni. Really, just add the veggies you like. We do prefer the classic taste of celery, onions and mushrooms in our homemade stuffing recipe.
